Northumberland Plate Festival 27 – 29 June
The highlight of Newcastle’s racing calendar with three days of fantastic racing. The BetFred Northumberland Plate Festival opens with the Seaton Delaval Trophy Raceday and continues the following evening with the Betfred Gosforth Park Cup Night.
The three day festival culminates with the biggest day of all on the Saturday afternoon when the £140,000 John Smith’s Northumberland Plate is run. Historically known as the “Pitmen’s Derby”, this race first ran in 1833 and the raceday is as popular today as it was back then.
