The Northumberland Plate Festival begins with the Seaton Delaval Stakes Day

The feature race of the day is the Seaton Delaval Handicap Stakes, a very competitive and valuable Class 2. The race is named after both the local village in Northumberland and a horse by the same name, who was victorious in the 1893 Northumberland Plate.
