Newcastle Racecourse is one of the busiest racecourses in the UK, hosting races all year round. Between October and April this includes races for the All Weather Championships. Newcastle is one of only 6 racecourses that host the championship.
Owners of Newcastle Racecourse - Arena Racing Company - invested millions to introduce the new Tapeta all weather track on the outer of the jumps track, alongside improvements to facilities. This new all-weather track currently stands as the only floodlit all-weather straight mile in the world.
The All-Weather Championships, especially the £1 million Finals Day at Lingfield Park on Good Friday, are now an established part of the British Racing Calendar. While the All-Weather Championships were initially the idea of Arena Racing Company (ARC), everyone at ARC is enormously grateful to the support we have received from all in British Racing in helping ensure the All-Weather Championships have proved a success from the outset.
