Now firmly established as the highlight of the social calendar in the North East, Gainford Group Ladies Day is the perfect setting to enjoy a day out with your friends and family. The most glamorous race day of the flat season combines an exciting day of fashion, fillies, fizz and live music after racing.
Looking for girls day out ideas? Planning a birthday or hen do? Ladies Day is your chance to experience glamour, exciting live horse racing and stunning fashion at the ultimate girls day out. It doesn't matter if you're new to watching live horse racing or if you've been to many horse racing fixtures before. You can't beat the atmosphere of the races. Feeling the ground shake as your horse thunders down the home straight, and everyone cheers. You can't beat horse racing in July!
The award-winning Bongo’s Bingo unites people for nights of magic and mayhem in a wild immersive experience. We are thrilled to announce, they will be joining us LIVE after racing to ensure the fun doesn’t stop at the finishing post.
Expect a fast-paced dose of Bongo’s with all the fun, dancing, tunes, audience interaction, and iconic prizes as our regular shows but with a twist…it’s Bongo’s without the Bingo!
The 90 minute Bongo’s DJ set will starting approx. 30 minutes after racing. Take a listen to their classic bingo set list to get you in the mood:
Ladies Day isn't just racing action and fashion fun. We also add in helpings of exciting entertainment, and delicious food and drink. Enjoy glasses of summer Pimm's, sparkling prosecco and of course glasses of smooth Champagne. To tempt your taste buds, there'll be a variety of delicious summer food available.
Ladies Day has long had a tradition of being the most fashionable day of the season. Thousands of racegoers all donning their favourite outfits and accessories to make for a very stylish event. Whilst dressing up isn’t necessary, many racegoers on Ladies Day enjoy dressing up.
Adding a beautiful hat, fascinator or even an on-trend headband makes the occasion that little bit more special. Looking for some inspiration? Check out our racing style guide.
Your favourite threads could also win you some big prizes. The Style Awards is open to all in attendance, and offers all manners of prizes for those in the top positions. Hotly contested, it certainly pays to impress the judges.
Entering the style awards is simple, we have our scouts from Tyne Tees Models Management. They will be onsite in every enclosure. If you don’t see them then make sure you head to the Tyne Tees Models stand located in the Grandstand Hall when you arrive to have your picture taken.
The judging will take place and the Top 10 finalists will be contacted directly prior to the award giving. Where you will be invited into the Parade Ring for the final judging to take place and overall 2024 Style Competition winner will be announced.

Children 17 and under go free to the races when accompanied by an adult (some exclusions apply for Festival fixtures and Live After Racing events). Children do not require a ticket in advance and a free ticket will be issued on the day.
Concessions discounts are only available on the day.
