Friday at the Northumberland Plate Festival looks a little different this year. Previously an evening fixture, Gosforth Park Cup Day is moving to the afternoon for 2027. So get the team together, switch the office for the racecourse and start the weekend at Newcastle.
Friday 25 June is day two of the Northumberland Plate Festival, and this year you’ve got even more reason to get out of work and make an afternoon of it.
Whether it’s the office summer social, a team get-together or simply an excuse to round up your workmates, Gosforth Park Cup Day is made for getting everyone together before the weekend begins.
Forget the usual Friday afternoon. Get the team out of the office and into the fresh air at Gosforth Park.
Grab a drink, find your spot and enjoy an afternoon of live racing together. There’s plenty of time to catch up, have a laugh and cheer on your picks as the action unfolds on the track.
The racing won’t be the only thing happening around the racecourse. We’ve got some great live entertainment planned for Friday afternoon.
Keep an eye out – we’ll be sharing more details soon.
Newcastle’s all-weather track brings plenty of speed and action to the second day of the Northumberland Plate Festival.
Head to the parade ring to see the horses up close before making your way trackside. Find a spot by the rail, hear the hooves as they charge past and join the noise around the finishing line.
Then head towards the winner’s enclosure and catch the celebrations afterwards.
If the work group chat has been talking about a summer do for months, here’s your answer.
Bring the whole team, leave the desks behind and spend Friday afternoon enjoying live racing, drinks, food and entertainment at Newcastle Racecourse. When the racing’s done, you’ve already got the weekend ahead of you.
