This is the big one. Saturday brings the Northumberland Plate Festival to a close with the famous Pitmen’s Derby and a full afternoon at Newcastle Racecourse.
Get your friends and family together, pick out your outfit and enjoy the atmosphere around Gosforth Park. There’s racing to get behind, food and drink to enjoy and entertainment throughout the day.
Northumberland Plate Day is one of Newcastle’s stand-out events, and there’s nothing quite like seeing the action up close.
Head to the parade ring to see the horses before they race, then find your spot by the rail. Hear the hooves as they charge past and join the noise around the finishing line before catching the celebrations at the winner’s enclosure.
You loved the entertainment last year, and we’re getting ready to bring the party back for 2027.
We’re yet to reveal what’s in store for Saturday, but you can expect another brilliant atmosphere to keep the festival spirit going after the racing.
