Saturday Floodlit Flat Racing

Saturday Floodlit Racing at Newcastle Racecourse 2027

Give your weekend a change of pace with Saturday floodlit racing at Newcastle Racecourse. Horse racing in March is a great reason to get your friends or family together for live flat racing at Gosforth Park, with spring in the air and plenty of action under the lights.

Spend Saturday night at the races

Get your group together and make a trip to the races part of your Saturday plans. Start at the parade ring, where you can get a closer look at the horses before they head out onto Newcastle's all-weather track.

Then find your place by the rail and watch the action unfold. Hear the hooves getting louder as the horses charge down the home straight and join the cheers as they race towards the finishing line.

First time at the races? Pick a horse to follow, get behind your favourite and enjoy the excitement of watching live racing up close.

Spring Saturdays under the floodlights

The days are getting longer and the first signs of spring are appearing, but the floodlights are still shining at Newcastle.

Catch up with friends over a drink between races, enjoy the view from the Grandstand or head trackside to be closer to the action. With the cool March air and the horses racing under the lights, it's a lively alternative to your usual Saturday night plans.
