Why wait for Friday? Start your weekend a day early at Newcastle Racecourse as Seaton Delaval Trophy Day gets the Northumberland Plate Festival underway on Thursday 24 June.
The Northumberland Plate Festival is back, and Thursday is where it all begins.
Get your friends, family or workmates together and head to Gosforth Park for an afternoon of all-weather flat racing. It’s the first day of one of Newcastle’s stand-out events, with plenty of atmosphere around the racecourse as festival weekend gets underway.
Friday can wait. Get out of the office, round up the group and start your weekend early with a Thursday at the races.
Grab a drink, find your spot and settle in for an afternoon of live racing. Call it Thirsty Thursday, call it an early start to the weekend – either way, it beats another ordinary Thursday.
There’s plenty to get behind on the track. Head to the parade ring to see the horses up close before they race, then make your way trackside and feel the pace as they charge past on Newcastle’s all-weather course.
Find a spot near the finishing line, cheer on your pick and catch the celebrations around the winner’s enclosure afterwards.
The days are longer, summer is here and the Northumberland Plate Festival gives you a good excuse to get everyone together.
Come straight from work, bring your mates or make an afternoon of it with the family. There’s no need to save all the fun for Saturday.
Seaton Delaval Trophy Day is the opening day of the Northumberland Plate Festival, kicking off three days of racing at Newcastle Racecourse.
Whether you’re joining us for Thursday or making a weekend of the festival, this is where it all gets started.
