Kick off the weekend early with an afternoon of horse racing in January at Newcastle Racecourse. Bring your mates, wrap up warm and swap the usual Thursday routine for live jump racing and a proper afternoon out.
There’s something about jump racing on a crisp winter afternoon. Hear the hooves coming down the track, watch the horses take each fence and get right by the rail as they battle towards the finish. January can feel a little flat once Christmas is over, so this is a good excuse to get everyone together and head out. Grab a hot drink, pick your spot and enjoy the noise as the crowd gets behind their favourites.
Take the afternoon off and start your weekend a little earlier. Newcastle Racecourse is made for getting together with friends and enjoying the racing at close quarters, from the parade ring to the finishing line. It’s a simple plan for a winter Thursday. Good company, live sport and plenty happening right in front of you.
