Spend a winter afternoon at Newcastle Racecourse with live jump racing on the turf. December brings a different pace to the course, with crisp air, horses taking on the fences and plenty of action to follow from trackside.
Jump racing is made for winter afternoons. Watch the horses in the parade ring before they head onto the course, then find a good view as they tackle each fence and make their way around the track.
Get close to the rail and you’ll hear the horses approaching before you see them charge past. As the race reaches its closing stages, join the crowd and cheer them towards the finishing line.
Wrap up warm and make an afternoon of it with friends or family. Grab some food and a drink, explore the racecourse and enjoy a few hours away from the usual December rush.
