Thursday Floodlit Flat Racing

Thursday Floodlit Racing at Newcastle Racecourse 2027

Make more of your Thursday with floodlit flat racing at Newcastle Racecourse. With spring on the way, horse racing in March gives you a good reason to get together with friends, family or colleagues and enjoy some live sport under the lights at Gosforth Park.

Thursday night trackside

Leave the usual Thursday routine behind and head to the races. Meet up with your mates, grab a drink and take a look at the horses in the parade ring before the action gets under way.

Find a spot close to the rail and watch as the horses gather speed down the home straight. Hear the hooves pounding the track, pick a favourite to cheer on and join the crowd as they race towards the finishing line.

There's no need to be a racing expert. Just bring your favourite people and enjoy a change from the usual midweek plans.

Spring racing under the floodlights

March brings longer days and the first signs of spring, but Newcastle's floodlights are still part of the action. As darkness falls, the all-weather track lights up for another round of flat racing.

Wrap up against the cool spring air and watch from the Grandstand or get closer to the action trackside. With a chance to catch up over a drink between races, it's a refreshing way to get your weekend started a little early.
