Thursday Floodlit Flat Racing

Thursday Floodlit Racing at Newcastle Racecourse 2027

Give your Thursday a change of pace with floodlit horse racing in September at Newcastle Racecourse. Join us for all-weather flat racing under the lights, with plenty of action to enjoy as autumn arrives at Gosforth Park.

A midweek trip to the races

Thursday might not usually be your first choice for a night out, but there's a good reason to change that. Get your friends or colleagues together, head to the racecourse after work and enjoy some live racing under the floodlights.

Start with a trip to the parade ring to see the horses up close, then find your place trackside. Hear the hooves thundering past as the horses race down the home straight, with the crowd cheering them towards the finishing line.

There's plenty to enjoy when you're standing right next to the action.

September racing under the lights

As summer turns to autumn, the cooler September air makes a good excuse to wrap up and head to the races. Grab some food and a drink, then watch the action from the Grandstand or get closer to the track by the rail.

Newcastle's all-weather track keeps the flat racing going throughout the year, whatever the weather brings. You don't need to be a racing expert to enjoy it. Bring your mates, pick a horse to cheer on and make more of your Thursday at Newcastle Racecourse.
