Wednesday Floodlit Flat Racing

Wednesday Floodlit Racing at Newcastle Racecourse 2027

Break up your week with Wednesday floodlit flat racing at Newcastle Racecourse. Horse racing in March gives you a great excuse to get together with friends, family or colleagues and enjoy some live sporting action under the lights at Gosforth Park.

Make Wednesday a racing night

Give your usual midweek plans a change and head to the races. Round up your group, grab a drink and enjoy a few hours of live racing on Newcastle's all-weather track.

Start with a visit to the parade ring, where you can see the horses up close before they head out to race. Then make your way to the rail and listen as the hooves grow louder down the home straight.

Pick a favourite, cheer them towards the finishing line and catch the celebrations around the winner's enclosure afterwards. You don't need to know much about racing to enjoy being right beside the action.

March racing under the floodlights

Spring is beginning to arrive and the days are getting longer, but there's still plenty of floodlit racing to enjoy at Newcastle.

Wrap up against the fresh March air, find a good viewing spot and watch the horses race beneath the lights. Between races, there's time to catch up with your group over a drink before heading back to see the next runners.

It's a welcome change from the usual Wednesday routine and a chance to enjoy live sport in the middle of the week.

Plan your midweek visit

Get organised before raceday and enjoy savings when you book your admission tickets online in advance. You can also purchase tickets at the gate when you arrive.
