Wednesday Floodlit Flat Racing

Wednesday Floodlit Racing at Newcastle Racecourse 2027

Break up your week with floodlit flat racing at Newcastle Racecourse. Horse racing in February is a great excuse to round up your mates or bring the family along for some live sport under the lights on our all-weather track.

Make Wednesday a racing day

Swap your usual Wednesday routine for a trip to the races. Get your friends together, grab a drink and enjoy some midweek action as the floodlights shine across the course.

Head to the parade ring to see the horses up close before finding your spot by the rail. Hear the hooves thundering past as the horses pick up speed, then join the cheers as they charge towards the finishing line.

You don't need to know everything about racing to enjoy it. Just pick a favourite, get behind them and enjoy the action right in front of you.

February under the floodlights

There's something special about watching flat racing under the lights during the winter months. Wrap up against the February chill, grab a hot drink and settle in for some live racing at Gosforth Park.

Newcastle's all-weather track keeps the racing going throughout the winter, giving you a chance to enjoy something different during the working week. Catch up with friends between races and make a Wednesday night of it.

Get ready for raceday

Booking ahead is a great way to save, with cheaper admission available when you purchase your tickets online in advance. Prefer to decide closer to the time? You can also buy tickets at the gate on raceday.
