Give the middle of your week a change of scenery with horse racing in November at Newcastle Racecourse. Spend Wednesday enjoying all-weather flat racing, with the floodlights taking over as the darker autumn skies draw in.
A Wednesday at the races is an easy way to break up the working week. Bring some friends or colleagues, grab some food and a drink and settle in for a few hours of live racing.
Start at the parade ring, where you can see the horses up close before they head out onto the track. Then make your way towards the rail and listen as the hooves get louder. As the light fades and the floodlights brighten the course, follow the action towards the finishing line and join the cheers as the horses race home.
The shorter November days bring a different feel to racing at Newcastle. Wrap up warm and watch from the Grandstand or head down to the rail when you want to be right beside the speed and sound of the action.
Newcastle’s all-weather track keeps the flat racing going throughout the year. You don’t need to know everything about the sport either. Pick your spot, follow the racing and enjoy doing something different with your Wednesday.
