The Fireworks and Funfair Racenight on Friday 5th November will have tickets available to purchase on the night and all Under 18’s go FREE. However, If you’re joining us for the first time or have visited us before, below is some useful information ahead of the event.
- Gates open at 1pm
- The funfair will be open from 1.00pm – 8.00pm
- The Racing will take place from 3pm – 6pm
- Entertainment on the stage from 6.15pm – 7.15pm
- The fireworks & laser display will start at 7.30pm
- Food and drink outlets & funfair remain open
- The event finishes at 8.00pm
The fireworks display will be an extremely busy event so please allow extra time to travel to and from the racecourse. Arrive as early as you can and remember that the funfair, bars and food outlets will remain open after the fireworks until the event finishes - so stay a bit longer to let the traffic ease. We advise people to car share where possible, make use of public transport or walk if you can.
The racecourse is easily accessed by road and bus. There is more detailed travel information here but please check local timetables and taxi services before departing.
Both east and west gates will be open for the event, however the middle section of the road in front of the racecourse buildings will be closed to traffic so please exit via the same gate you entered. Stewards will be on hand to navigate you safely to the closest parking space. The parking areas at the racecourse are free but please allow plenty of time to get here. The fireworks display will be an extremely busy event so to alleviate congestion, please allow extra time to arrive. As mentioned above, we advise people to car share where possible.
Please inform the car parking stewards on arrival if you require accessible car parking.
Funfair & Face Painting
Get ready to be thrilled at the huge funfair! The rides will cater for older kids and teenagers as well as gentler rides for toddlers. The funfair will be open until 8pm and there is a charge for rides. There will also be a face painting and glitter station in the Grandstand Hall. The evening will be hosted by Smooth Radio presenter Steve Coleman who will be LIVE on stage providing music that will keep you dancing all night long along with prize giveaways. Live performances will be on or near the stage area between 6.15pm and 7.30pm to keep you entertained until the countdown to the Fireworks and Laser SPECTACULAR!
Please check the local forecast before departing and dress accordingly. Wrap up warm and bring waterproofs as this is an outdoor event with limited indoor space.
FOOD & DRINK
A range of bars and food outlets are available serving tasty snacks and drinks. A range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan food options will be available across the racecourse.
We take security and safety very seriously. There will be a strong security presence and you will be subject to a bag search on arrival.
Please be patient and limit the bags you bring.
We ask all visitors not to leave bags unattended and to report anything suspicious to a member of staff.
Please remember, the food outlets and bars are card only but we advise you to bring cash for the funfair rides. There are no cash machines on site so please bear this in mind.
With the exception of Assistance Dogs, dogs are not permitted to enter the racecourse. In the interests of animal welfare, no dogs are permitted to be left in cars and Newcastle Racecourse politely request that all dogs are left at home.
At this event, concessions will be available at the gate.
For health and safety reasons, no sparklers or other lit fireworks can be brought into the racecourse.
