Previewing Thursday the 11th of September’s race meet at Newcastle is horse racing expert Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson, courtesy of Freebets.com the number one source for the best betting sites.
I'm going to Newcastle on Thursday night and there’ll be some good racing there.
Nine races in all, and in race four, the 6:25 the Fillies Handicap, there's a horse called Lightning Touch, trained by an in-form Roger Varian. He's had eight winners in the last couple of weeks. And although this horse hasn't won as yet, she's been in the frame in five of her six races.
She was beaten a photo last time out, which basically means she's almost a winner without a penalty. Lightning Touch is my pick in the 6:25.
Moving to the 6:55, the six-furlong Fillies Handicap, it's ultra-competitive here. But number nine, Miss Hathaway, she's been first, second and third in her last three races; and she was beaten in only half a length at Southwell last time out in one of those racing league ultra-competitive handicaps.
I think she's got a good each way chance, Miss Hathaway.
In the eight o', clock, the seven-furlong Novices, number five, Spitzbergen comes up from the Crisford in-form stable in Newmarket. This gelding finished a very promising second at Kempton last time out. And the seven pounds he receives in weight from Monsieur Bondi should be enough for Spitzbergen to win.
